east of Westcott St.)
A new center for peace and social justice organizations
to share space, collaborate and expand efforts to build
a more peaceful and just city, nation and world.
See the Inside
This facility will not only increase the effectiveness of each organization
housed there, but will also allow for much greater synergies and collaboration.
The creation of a peace and social justice center in a central, visible
location will mark a major advancement in the growth and development
of progressive forces in our community.
A substantial building with professional facilities will lend a sense
of legitimacy to our critical social action work.
Daily face to face contact among these key community activists will
increase networking and allow our community to plan proactively and
respond more effectively to future crises.
New creative projects will emerge from discussions around the coffee
table, over lunch and during meetings.
This center will build on work already begun by the Greater Syracuse
Progressive Coalition and the annual Hiroshima Day commemoration.
Renovating the center as a Green building will provide a visible
example to the community of steps we can take to preserve the natural
world.
